GOOD-BYE, LINDSEY!

Last Tuesday, May 26th, was our assistant's last day at school. After two years in Spain as a foreign language assistant she is heading for her native United States in order to continue her career as a teacher.
She received the farewell of both teachers -who gave her a hand decorated fan and a nice necklace and bracelet as a memento of her stay in Fidiana- and students -who prepared a goodbye-card for her-of the C.L.I.L. programme, who have been enjoying her presence and work for the last 8 months.
You have been an excellent assistant! We will miss you, Lindsey! Thank you , and... Good luck!

HALL OF FAME

This morning an award giving ceremony has taken place in I.E.S. Fidiana. Last C.L.I.L. Day's winning teams have been announced and the team members have received a diploma and a practical pen drive as a prize for their good performance at the C.L.I.L. gymkhana.
The programme coordinator thanked both the students, for their participation, and the teachers, for their enthusiasm on preparing the day's activities, which turned out quite successful according to everybody's opinion. After that, the winners were called out by the CLIL teachers present, and were given their little reward.  The event finished with the wish for a new and successful edition next year.

A NEW C.L.I.L. DAY IS COMING TO FIDIANA

Next Wednesday March 4th I.E.S. Fidiana is going to celebrate its 5th C.L.I.L. Day. This year the event will be focused on the recent Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai and her role as a leader in the fight for the right to education.
Our students will participate in an AICLE competition, where teams of four will have to solve puzzles in different workshops related to their CLIL curriculum subjects. After the coffee break, there will be a range of activities, such as: learning a Bollywood dance; listening to a short lecture on the situation of women's education and work in India; watching and commenting a short film on girls and education in Africa; and attending a shadow theatre performance by their own schoolmates.
